Luis Buñuel is a filmmaker with few friends and a singular profession trajectory. A hardcore Surrealist in Twenties Paris and a propagandist for Republican Spain through the Civil War, Buñuel discovered refuge within the Mexican movie business earlier than making a triumphant, late-life return to France and the artwork cinema pantheon.

“The Discreet Charm” isn’t with out its pleasures. Seyrig, Audran, and Ogier are magnificent farceurs.
